For those that work in Seattle but want a quieter life outside of the city, there is no better place to find it than in Bellevue. With its extensive parklands and many properties along Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington, where Seattle is just on the other side, there are few more perfect bedroom communities all the way to Clarkson real estate, let alone this area. But living outside of the city and commuting daily is not for everyone and one of the factors is how much that suburban home will cost you. When first looking at the statistics for Bellevue, it seems that this is only a place for homebuyers with deep pockets. The average listing price for a mid-sized home in the city is currently bordering just below $950,000. But, just as you can find gems with lower price tags with Toronto townhouses, there are areas of Bellevue where prices are much more reasonable. The median sales price for a home in the city is a much more reasonable $485,000.
Getting more specific, buyers are seeing an average of $304 per square foot for a home in this area. A one-bedroom will be listed for somewhere around $300,000, while a home with more than four bedrooms commonly holds a price tag around $1.1 million. So, if you're used to more regulated prices like in KMFRC, you may have to do more searching to find something here.
But, while much of the country has been going through a real estate price crisis, Bellevue prices have stayed relatively steady over the past few years. This is good news for those looking to get a good return on their home investment. While they have not been spared completely, with homes decreasing in price by 9.3% from the same time last year, there are certainly other places that have suffered more. So if you're moving out of the city, maybe looking at Richmond Hill homes for sale you may be able to upgrade in your new location.
The most expensive section of the city is also the most popular. It is the northwest side right along Lake Washington and homes there are listed at an average of $1.5 million. They are selling at an average of $1.14 million. The popularity of this area is probably a combination of the beautiful lakefront properties and the easy commute into the city.
As one travels further away from the border with Seattle homes become less popular. Those who want water views without paying for a home on the Westside should check out what's available on the east side of the city along Lake Sammamish. Homes here are selling for around $450,000 and can be great for someone coming from somewhere like Brampton real estate who doesn't mind a longer commute.
